Carefree And Black Diaries

As I was searching though the Anchor website for things to help me my podcast I came across a podcast called Carefree and Black Diaries.  This is after flipping through a sea of white hosted podcasts, this one made me stop because why, because she looked like me. I don’t know why it makes me feel weird when saying this as if I’m saying something wrong.  I’m not prejudice, anybody that knows me, blah blah blah you know how it goes, but because she looked like me it grabbed my attention and I clicked on her podcast and I was immediately drawn to it because of her content. Do Nothing Without Intension was the first episode I listened to and the things she said were some of the things that I have been saying for years, one of them was black trauma and the fact that she was tired of watching it.  I’m tired of the slave, segregation, gangster and hood movies and shows.  Note to Hollywood: We are and can do so much more, but my Spidey senses tell me that they already know that.

The host, Shaakira White discuses a wide variety of topics, such as getting out of your comfort zone, P.I.MP., but not in the traditional sense, Growth, and one of my favorites is You’re a Fraud (Imposter Syndrome)!  GEM’S dropping all throughout this episode!  When she says get your pen and paper, this means she’s about to drop some GEM’S. Shaakira is originally from Florida and with her soft southern twang she excitedly tells us about her experiences, black history and pop culture and I’m almost sure she is not one of those people that Charlamagne Tha God talks about on his radio show, The Breakfast Club.
